Happy and hardy in any decent, well-drained neutral-to-acid soil in full sun where Acacia Gaulous Astier creates light feathered shade with appealing early blooms offering abundant flower and structure. Sheltered south and west-facing spots are best although it can be grown in a conservatory in colder areas. If you’re concerned about its eventual size, growing a Mimosa tree indoors in a container will limit its height and spread but be prepared to rehome it in a larger planter every few years when it threatens to outgrow its space. Drought-resistant, mostly trouble-free and low-maintenance, the Mimosa tree is a delightful flowering tree with appealing foliage for sheltered city, cottage, coastal, country and suburban gardens. It’s a natural choice for adding authenticity and structure to Mediterranean gardens. 6-8m x 2.5-4m

Our potted plants can be planted anytime, in full sun or any decent neutral-to-acid well-drained soil. Avoid planting when the ground is excessively wet or frozen. Remember, trees normally reach their ultimate height and spread within 10-20 years depending on species so give it ample growing room.

A beautiful tree that needs little pruning. Trim lightly after flowering if needed, (but no later than August,) simply removing any unwanted stragglers, dead, damaged or diseased stems to maintain size and shape. Suckers growing at the base can be pinched or clipped off. Mimosa trees growing indoors can attract Red Spider Mite once the temperatures rise (around 21°C). It’s nothing to worry about and is easily remedied by using a generic bug spray. Alternatively, if you are new to biological remedies you might like to try introducing biological predatory mites (Phytoseiulus persimilis) that eat the Red Spider Mite and their eggs to combat more serious infestations. It’s an environmentally friendly solution that can be bought online from reputable retailers.

Delivery is fast – because we pick orders daily from our own growing beds your plants only travel the small hop to our packing shed before being sent to you, they are usually delivered within 3-7 days.

Delivery is reliable – we have been selling and delivering Hedging Plants to our customers nationwide since 1992. We have a lot of experience in packing them safely and only use tried and tested delivery partners.

Exceptions to our delivery charges are Scottish Highland and Isle of Wight delivery areas where we need to charge a little extra to cover the cost of deliveries to these outlying areas. We don’t currently delivery to other offshore addresses including Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland.

Tall plants over 2.5 metres have to be delivered by our own specialised transport, our delivery area is limited to mainland England and Wales only.

Please note there is a minimum order value of £50 for orders containing smaller plants and £250 for orders containing heavier plants
