Luzula nivea

Luzula nivea (Snowy Woodrush)
Gradually increasing evergreen clumps of neat ground covering foliage composed of loose slender hairy leaves from which the arching sprays of elegant white flowers emerge in early Summer. A fine little architectural grass often specified by garden designers.
Because of its neutral colouration of flowers and foliage this plant will go well in many settings, for example against the stronger colours of bold perennials, in the formality of a courtyard or urban garden or simply planted en masse to provide effective low maintenance ground cover.
Luzula nivea is a good plant for shade, either dry or moist making it useful for bringing ordered ground cover to more difficult areas. They also grow well in full sun provided there is at least a little moisture in the soil (which can be assured with a generous mulch in Spring)
