Tulbaghia violacea Silver Lace

Tulbaghia violacea Silver Lace (Society Garlic)
An enchanting little semi-evergreen grass-like perennial, the grey-green strap like foliage (with a garlic scent when crushed) has attractive white stripes. From mid-Summer right through until Autumn it produces small clusters of star shaped pink-mauve flowers, rather like a miniature Agapanthus. They look great lining the edge of a sunny path with their long flowering season, and are perfect for a remarkable container specimen.
Tulbaghia silver Lace is a clump forming perennial plant, they are best grown in a warm sunny spot or in a container on a sunny seating area that can be brought inside in winter, this delightful little plant won’t take a great deal of frost – but it is certainly worth it!
